9am / Pirate Hats, Parrots & Ocean Jars

Ahoy, mateys! What is a pirate without their iconic hat or trusty parrot? Join us for this fun-filled craft event, where you'll have the chance to create your very own pirate hat and craft a colorful parrot to complete your best pirate look! Additionally, dive deep into the ocean and create a calming sensory bottle that captures the magic of the sea. Each child will fill their jar with ocean-themed items like glitter, shells, and fish for a soothing, swirly water experience.

11am / Octopus Tag

Octopus Tag is a fun and active game that’s perfect for groups and gets everyone moving! Here are the basic rules:

Objective:

The goal is to avoid being tagged by the "Octopus" while running from one side of the playing area to the other.

Setup:

  • Players: At least 3 players (the more, the merrier!)

  • Space: A large open area, like a gym or outdoor field.

  • Roles: One player is chosen to be the "Octopus" (the tagger), and the rest of the players are the "crab."

  • Safe Zone: A "safe zone" where crab can pause for a brief moment, but they can only stay there for a limited time (e.g., 20 seconds).

How to Play:

  1. Starting the Game: The Octopus stands in the middle of the play area.
The crabs line up on one side of the field (or designated starting line).

  2. Running: The Octopus calls out, “Octopus, ready… set… GO!” At this point, the crabs try to run across the field to the other side without getting tagged by the Octopus.

  3. Tagging: If a crab gets tagged by the Octopus, they must crab walk to another crab for a high five to get back in the game.

Ending the Round:

  • After 3-5 minutes, a new octopus will step in.

The game is fast-paced, fun, and keeps everyone on their toes!
